app icons getting white boarder when changing

I changed my phone icon by SSH, i got the icon from this forum. at first it was way to big, so then i resized it to what the correct size should be, 57x57 right? and in after doing so it is there now but it hasd a white boarder around it making it square. how do i get rid of this? thanks.
 
Nobody has experienced this white box border problem, I'm using png files and such, I got the icons right from the icons care to share post. Anyone?
