After updating I’ve got a huge folder called “other” on the App Library. Anyone seeing this?

I do see that… can’t say I’ve paid all that much attention but I think it’s always been there… apps that don’t fit into one of the other categories?

Yeah, also have this.

...but really, i never cared about this "app library", completely superfluous feature - at least to me.

This has happened to me recently. Did anyone ever get this to clear up and reorganize somehow? I was thinking of re-organizing all my icons as I have an unmanaged mess of 150 app icons and getting to a page or two plus the App Library seems like a decent idea. With 139 in "Other" now, this is clearly a bug. As the OP said, there were multiple categories before.

I toggled "Settings -> Siri -> Show in App Library" off and then it magically reorganized. Toggled is back on and it also worked.

And it is also complete nonsense and typical of Apple to half-axx this solution and not let up categorize the apps ourselves.
