iPhone 13 Pro Max App Library and Settings Search not working

I set up my phone as “new” and it’s been updated to iOS 15.1 already immediately after activating the brand new phone. Factory defect?

Ugh! I did and it didn’t fix it. Now all is good after a total reset except I am not encountering another issue. My Gmail contacts won’t sync. So frustrating
