With an iMac, I do not see as App Nap as value added, makes sense on a laptop I suppose, but not the desktop; that's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

So, does anyone know of a utility to disable this on a desktop without rooting through each individual application? Also, I have noticed some applications do not even possess the app nap toggle when getting information is brought to the fore, hmmm...

Anyone else wondering about this?

To add to the OP's questions:

Is there a terminal command that will completely disable AppNap for ALL applications?

App Nap and terminal commands. . .

I found this on another forum> defaults write -g NSAppSleepDisabled -bool true

Seems to have worked for me, beach balls have disappeared, YMMV
