ok so hopefully i can describe this well, because it seems SO simple. i'd die to have an app like this, and i don't know if anything like it exists.

i've got my turntable hooked into my iMac via an iMic. rad.

i've got SoundSource installed, so with the click of a button i can turn my machine's audio input to the iMic and the output to my speakers (also connected to iMic). rad.

then comes the part where i have to open Garageband and set a track to record with monitoring on, because that's the only way to get the audio to loop.

seems like there could be an app with no more than one button, all it would have to do is take the System Preferences specified audio input, and push the sound out of the specified audio output.

any ideas? hopefully this all makes sense even.

i am not to sure if i understand correctly, but you are trying to record the sound from your turntables? if so, get a program called wiretap studio. its not free, but if u look hard enough u can find a serial number online. its a great program and it works very well. hope this answered your problem
