App. Screen Sharing?

I've got a 12.9 iPad running OS11 Beta. I can't seem to figure out how to share the screen with two apps like I did in OS10. What am I missing here? A BETA fluke, or is the old 12.9 not capable of running two apps?

You now swipe from the bottom and drag and drop apps. Rather than me (clumsily) try to explain it you could check out a video. There are many but here's one I just found
