App Store Approval Process.... CBS Sportsline College Apps

I went to Southern Illinois University and back on August 28th I spoke with our Sports Information Director about a mobile version of the website. At that time he told me an IPhone App would be out "anyday". Well it's been 6 weeks and still nothing. Apparently CBS Sportsline has Apps submitted for Tennessee and a few other schools, but nothing has hit the App store. What could cause Apple to hold Apps up in the approval process for 6 weeks. They have other Apps so I can't imagine it's an issue with content.
