If something happens during the download of Lion, i.e the internet cuts out, my wife closes the computer lid, etc., is there a way to resume the download?

The same thing that happens everytime a download is interrupted. It pauses and resumes once the connection is re-established. No worries there!

And thats while streaming wireless HD netflix to the TV.

The best part is I only pay for 25 :)

Have you been burned by downloading Xcode from the developer website? One night I had the download going strong and anytime my connection was interrupted I had to restart it! The MAS fixes this!

Actually, quite the opposite. I tried to download Xcode for the MAS, only to have to reinstall the software after accidentally closing out of the app store.

Ouch!

Xcode on MAS is kind of annoying in a way. With each update you had to redownload the entire application. There was Xcode 4.01 and you had to redownload everything! This is actually one thing I am really looking forward to in Lion...delta updates!

The MAS didn't stop you from closing it while downloading?

It happened to me. It continues right back up but then when I tried to install I got errors. So I had to delete and redownload it and then installed perfectly.
