iPod touch App Store Freezes When I Try To Purchase Apps

Whenever I try to purchase apps on the App Store, it always freezes up. It does not respond and when I close it and reopen it again, it still does the same thing. I tapped on Purchased and after that, it just froze.

I had a problem with the app store just now. I had to retry many apps several time before they all finally updated. Also, I had an issue with iMessage where messages would not complete. The latter seems to be resolved now.
