Seems to be affecting all sorts of devices, not just ones on iOS 16. Be patient. 
Seems to be a problem right now. Probably too many people at the same time. Just give the server an hour or so and try again.
Just FYI that one of my phones on iOS 16 which was having the issue is now working.
