App Store locked down for Thanks Giving week

That is the rumor.

My question is for those who were around last two years (when they locked down the app store for Christmas week) Did they lock it starting Monday that week?
or Christmas eve?

I ask because my app is going to be out around Thanks Giving, I wonder i will get locked out if I set the release date for Wednesday Nov 24, for example,
and it doesn't open until the following Monday.
