I'm not able to download anything from the App Store. I'm on a 6 Plus set up as new phone 8.0.2... Not sure what's going on. I did a reboot and still nothing.

I got the same problem. Can't download stuff that was previously purchased or new. Restart no help. This in on my 5 with 8.0.2

Yeah I tried to download snip snap to my iPhone 6, is it incompatible?
Theres another post that mentions some apps may not be compatible so app store may not let you download it?

I had this problem on an iPad Air with iOS 8.02 and it was reported elsewhere that the Wall Street Journal app is causing this. I deleted the WSJ app, and now app downloads and updates are working. Of course, I also cancelled my WSJ subscription.

Think I found a fix

I just notice this morning that my phone hand't updated any apps and I couldn't download any new ones.

There are a few threads on the Apple boards so I don't think it's the apple store.

One recommendation is reset all settings, I did that and it seems to have worked. I updated one app and it is ok. But it's a pain as now I am resetting all my settings.

Not the end of the world, but another dent in the iOS 8 updates. This one was a bit of a dog.

I don't have the WSJ app on my phones, and I had the issue.

Everything updated and now I can download apps again.

Weird

I'm having the same issue as of this morning (iPhone 6, iOS 8.0.2). I first noticed it trying to download a new app. I'd tap "Free," then "Install" and it would jump right back to "Free." I tried to update an app or two, tapping "Update" flashed for a second and went right back to it.

I restarted the phone, same result. I signed out and back into the App Store, and now it looks like it will download or update, but it just gets the spinning circle and never progresses. If I force quit the App Store, the apps I was trying to download/update now have the stop icon. If I tap it, it goes back to "Free" or "Update" again. Repeat ad nauseam.

I've seen some posts on Apple's discussion boards, but most of them seem to be people who have been experiencing the issue, and now there's this group of us where this just popped up today. I'm leaning towards what @c613m suggested, an issue with the App Store.

And FWIW, I don't have the WSJ app either.

Nevermind, I'm good now too. Must have been an App Store glitch/outage.

This fixed mine:

1. Sign out of app store.
2. Hard reset your phone
3. Sign back into the app store.
4. Delete any apps you were trying to update and redownload them.

Did anyone have this issue and now have an unknown app on their phone that can't be deleted?
