app store not showing safari update.. please help!

Hi,

I have a 2014 rMBP with safari 8.0.. I want to upgrade to the latest version of safari, but the app store isn't showing the update! I tried this method

http://www.maclife.com/article/columns/terminal_101_software_update

but that didn't work either!

I'd really appreciate some help please.

Aren't the updates to Safari bundled in with OS X updates?

I don't know. I have the latest version of yosemite and I should see the updates in the app store?
