What can I do to get the app store to open? I've tried logging out and resetting the keychain, but all I get is a blank window.

When you say you logged out, you mean you logged out of your iCloud account?
A couple of things to try:

- Restart into Safe Mode, login to your user account and see if the App Store works. Restart back to normal mode when you are done.
- Create a new user account, login to the new user and see how the App Store works.
