Apple today announced that the App Store is now offering search suggestions, a new feature that's designed to make it easy to locate exactly what you're looking for when seeking out a new app or game.

You'll see search suggestions when you start typing in a new search term. So, for example, if you type in "Game," you'll see specific categories you can add such as "puzzle," "multiplayer," "kids," "offline," and other options.

When you tap one, such as "puzzle," you can drill down even further with options like "jigsaw" or "word," so you can find specific kinds of content even if you don't know exactly what you're looking for.

Search suggestions were previously available for some users as part of a test, but Apple says the feature is rolling out today in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia.

What bugs me (and baffles me) is that if I search for, say, Spotify, the top hit is TikTok. If I search for Flipboard, the top hit is an app called The Knowledge. Why isn't the top app the one I actually want? Why is Apple trying trying to push me towards apps I don't want?

I also get TikTok when I search for Spotify, but it has a little sign that says "Ad", so I assume TikTok paid to get listed there.

So many times I’ve typed the name of an app into search and it still doesn’t find the app. Usually end up going back to Google to find the app website then click on the link to the app on their website. Such a cumbersome and ridiculous process. Just fix the whole search function Apple.

Apple (and others search techniques) are so retarded I am starting to believe that Google deserve to be worth $1T company just for being able to search so well.
