When i purchase an iphone app does it save threw itunes? What im asking is... i have the iphone generation 1. If i purchase an app on that, then get the 3G iphone. Will i still be able to download the app free because i already paid for it?

Yes. As long as your iTunes account is authorized on that computer, you can download your app(s) purchased before for free. Happy syncing
