Hey guys just bought an AVP (got it for a great price) I'm based in Australia and the unit I purchased was from the States.
It was running the previous OS version and when I went to use the APP store it said I couldnt use the app store and then read how it is region locked.
HOWEVER! I thought id try updating to the latest OS 2 and it's now fully working! I'm using my native Apple ID and am able to download and purchase all apps and content with zero issues!

Did they even mention this for the latest update?

Cheers!

P.S this thing is blowing my mind!

The VisionPro is available in Australia, so you have access on the AppStore in Australia.
The fact, your VisionPro originates from the U.S. is irrelevant.

I registered my VisionPro on my main Apple account - in a country, where the VisionPro is not available. No AppStore at all visible.
...so adding a separate account for purchases and subcriptions in a country where it IS avilable - and lo and behold: AppStore and AppleTV appearead miraculously.
