I just downloaded the new version of motionX GPS app and after going back and looking at it, it only showed that it had 17 reviews. I know it use to have a few hundred so I went to reading them. It seems that apple is only counting the reviews that where made or edited after the release of the latest version. The old one's are still there they just don't add to the star rating anymore. It hasn't always been like this has it?

Yeah I knew about the having to have the app for your review to count, but that was the first time I saw the version specific reviews. Seems like a good move.

Yeah... it makes sense, especially since lots of reviewers pan an app and give it a very low rating for lacking some feature that it subsequently gets in an update. It's not useful to me to get lots of 1-star reviews of the NYT app, for instance, because it doesn't allow me to save articles for offline viewing, when it does now.
