App Store search won't clear on iPad? (9.2)

ugh this is annoying, my search history won't clear on my iPad pro, am I the only one? They finally fixed it on 9.1 but they let this bug come back again. Smh

I've had this on a few different iPads for a long time (at least since iOS 8 if not 7) and can't say that I've seen any version of iOS 9 address it, including the latest 9.2.
