Hi
When I access App Store & type in a search term 'Loading' & a spinning wheel sits there for a long time (about 30 seconds) before it responds. I noticed that if I restart the iPad (5th generation) then App Store works fine. After that it goes slow again.
Any suggestions?

Seems like the internet connection might be spotty...can you confirm if other devices have an issue connecting? Also, is it just the App Store that is slow, or is it the internet too?

Yes, I considered that as a possible cause but it's not the case. The internet connection is solid.
It seems that it's only the app store that's affected, Safari, Mail etc work fine.

Try restarting your device. It seems to fix things when I run into issues like this (not just with App Store).

Yeah, as I said in the original post I tried restarting and the first time I go to App Store it works as I'd expect.
OK, I'll try it now:
Open App Store - Search page opens - Search for 'Monster'
'Loading' for about 40 seconds then: 'Cannot Connect to App Store'. 'Retry'.
Tap 'Retry' - 'Loading' for a second - results are displayed.
The delay seems to depend on the search term.
I tried searching for 'Camera' & it took 84 seconds before 'Cannot Connect to App Store'. 'Retry' appeared.
As soon as I hit 'Retry' the results are displayed.
I tried Split Screen with Safari & used it whilst App Store was loading so the internet connection is fine.

I have had this happen with App Store on different devices, and I suspect I have some WiFi issue in certain locations in my house, but it's not predictable. The signal strength indicator is 'strong' but it still doesn't work.

I can usually get it to work by switching from 5MHz to 2.4MHz, or going to the room where the WAP is. But it can be days before it recurs. The WAP is not in a great location (too close to a wall and door frames etc) but it is fine most of the time.

Over cellular connection, restart has reliably fixed connection issues for me (e.g. Music app won't start playing). Maybe just toggling cellular off and back on would work as well. It seems a little better since one of the latest updates.

Yeah, looks like I've run out of options apart from resetting the whole thing which is a right pain.
Now for me the question is: What is the most hassle? Living with it or a reset (scratches head, rubs chin).
Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

If anyone’s interested or has a similar problems here’s how I solved it.
On the Search page of App Store you can access your account settings.
One listing on there is (apps) Updated Recently. I noticed that the Kindle App required an update but tapping the update button brought up an error message stating that the iCloud log on was different to the one when Kindle was originally installed!
After some head scratching I remembered that not long after I bought the iPad I changed the iCloud log on to a different identity & password.
It seems that I’d installed Kindle using the original iCloud ID & it was now attempting to run an update using the new & current one.
So I uninstalled & reinstalled Kindle.
What has this got to do with being unable to access the App Store originally?
I’m not sure but what I do know that it cured the problem at a stroke.
