Not that it matters really, but............ some updates do get bad press and you don't have to update them but can you delete the update notification on the 'update list' or corresponding number on home screen?

No, it's not possible to dismiss the update notification or the update itself without downloading it.

Not unless you're jailbroken, then you just delete the iTunesmetadata.plist file!

No that's true, but I did wait 3 days, not like some who ask again in a couple of hours if they don't get answered, but I asked basic iTunes back up questions in this forum ages ago and they got ignored too, I thought basic stuff would get a yes/no/not sure but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't. I've never had anything answered in the iPhones forum to help me back up correctly without losing all which has happened 3 times even when putting up screen shots and asking people. That, coupled with the fact something pretty basic asked in another forum on here got ignored too, .... This place used to be a lot more helpful
