App Store updates

When I go into the App Store on my iPad and update any apps, they download and install okay but they all remain in the App Store update page waiting to be opened. Are those updated apps supposed to remain there? If not how do I remove them from that update page? Before the update to iOS 7 after the updates were finished it would show a blank page and it would say All apps are up to date. I don't see that anymore.

That's just how it is now in iOS 7.
