Having just got my first watch I’m keen to see what useful apps I can get for the watch. I’m familiar with the iPhone app store and use the “top free apps”, “top paid apps” & view by category lists when looking at phone apps but when I view the watch apps I’m just getting a very basic list which just appears to just show a few pre-selected apps in pre-selected categories.

Viewing watch apps on the iPhone
The way I’m viewing the apps on the phone is to open the watch app, click the discovery tab and then click explore watch apps, is this the best way? I tried opening the app store directly as normal but couldn’t see a way to filter for just watch apps.

When I view the watch apps this way I just see a few categories like “Great on watchOS7”, “Create the ultimate watch face”, “health helpers on the apple watch” etc. If I click into them I then get offered a selection of apps from those categories. For instance the health helpers category just shows 6 apps. What I’m really after is a way to view the watch apps like I can view the phone apps. So if I’m after for instance a sleep app I can view a list of ALL sleep apps sorted by how popular they are, is there a way to do this?

Viewing watch apps on the watch
This seems to be even more limited. When I open the app store on the watch I just see 12 apps. Under the customise your watch face section I can click a “See All” button where I get a few more apps. How to I see categories and top lists etc?

Thanks

I found more by searching for what I was looking for, which was “games on watch”. I found hangman, word search and billiards that way. I was on phone App Store when I did that.

Yeah it seems to be very limited. A tried to find an app i've read about on here, work outdoors on the watch but it wasn't showing up unless I actually carried out a search for it. This is fine if you know what you're after but I was hoping I would discover apps like this by looking through different categories of apps and top lists etc.
