iPod touch App suddenly won't download to ipod

Some weird stuff has been happening to my non jailbroken ipod. First I discover that suddenly four apps won't transfer from itunes because the computer says that it isn't authorised, but it is. I de authorised and reauthorised anyway. But even free apps like Apple remote would not update.

My internet connection is fine and fast. I tried deleting a random app to see if I could re download that, and I could not. It tries to download but just sits there looping forever.

I've logged out of icloud and itunes and app store on mac and ipod and re logged in but I cannot get the ipod to load up apps that worked fine before from itunes but even worse I cannot even get the App store app on my ipod to download apps from the cloud, they just sit there forever waiting.

I have already restored the ipod to no avail.

I feel that if I can work out why I can't even delete and then redownload an app, that it will solve everything. But I cannot.

Internet speed on ipod is about 7 megabits/sec

any clues?

EDIT:

I don't know what caused it but it got fixed by a second hard reset. A restore and hard reset and logging out and into everything did not help but a second hard reset had it all working again. So there you go.
