App suggestions comparitive to iPhone

I was mostly using iOS but recently switched - at least for my phone - to an HTC One Android device. I was used to listening to podcasts on my way to work but I don't think there's a way to sync them? Is there anything like Apple's podcasts app that keeps playback synced between devices and allows me to keep a schedule of automatic downloads? I can do it on my iPad but it's a little awkward to control/pick something to play on the road.

Also, is there anything like the Music app so I can play audiobooks (I don't think Google Music does it - or at least I doubt I'll have enough space since they're large files)?

I use pocket casts. Very similar to the iOS podcasts app. At least all my feeds were there
