I have a JB iPad 2 running iOS 6--whenever you are in an app, if you happen to accidentally swipe to the side or down, it either closes out the app or switches to another background app. Is there any way to prevent this?

I'm not running Zepher or anything like that--just Auxo. It's just frustrating because my daughter likes to play several toddler games on the iPad to stay occupied when we are traveling etc., but with some of them its difficult not to swipe one way or another (sometimes it's part of the game) so she's always winding up outside of app/game she's playing (and many of the games then start over when you reload them after switching out).

I don't even care if I have to disable multi-tasking all together, I'd just like to be able to prevent this from happening.

Easiest thing to do is disable multitasking gestures. Settings/general multitasking gestures
