Two questions, can you access the app list and force quit programs from an IR remote (on AppleTV 4K)? From what I’ve seen, IR can replicate a button that pressing once goes back in the program you’re in, holding takes you to the Home Screen. But there’s a second button on the remote which can take you to a task manager basically, where you can switch and force quit programs, like I’m iOS. I’m not sure if that’s accessible from an Ir remote, which sounds like the AppleTV wouldn’t be fully useable with Ir.
second question I’m throwing in, I’m case anyone is familiar with it...I just want a streaming box that handles HDR10 right (in particular for me right now, with Disney+). I’ve ruled out the Chromecast with Google TV after multiple reports that HDR10 is washed out. I’ve heard the FireTV cube is maybe only 8-bit color. If so it’s out. Not sure about the FireTV 4K stick nor Roku ultra, but I guess the Apple TV works okay which is why I’m back to seriously considering it even though my apple account locks twice per week (so my Apple TV would too) and it should be replaced soon, and from the forum here it sounds like 14.3 wrecked local playback from iTunes. *sigh*
