App sync in iCloud

I know we can now easily see past purchases and download apps not on device easily with 'iCloud app sync' or trigger automatically downloads on our device when downloaded from other devices with our AppleID.

But... Will there be API in iOS5, that allow devs the ability to sync data using it. Like how 1Password uses DropBox for data syncing, smooth and just works!

e.g. game progression in Infinity Blade, Cut the Robe, or chat logs in BeeJive?

Yes. Devs can sync app data in iCloud if they want to.

My infiniti blade playing is on hold since I got iPada nd don't wanna start over from scratch =(

And I already long back started disregarding any app that isn't Universal. If it's not universal and they want money, even .99, screw them.

I have already seen a couple of devs say they are going to use iCloud for iPhone to iPad syncing. Cannot wait for it.
