iOS App to add private appointments to Exchange calendar?

I have no experience at all with the iPhone SDK so I was wondering if you guys could shed light on this.

Basically, you can't add a private appointment to an Exchange calendar via the iPhone Calendar app. Therefore I was wondering if it would be feasible to write a simple iPhone app to do this?
