App to make cool sounds?

Hey everyone,

I was looking for a simple kind of app that makes cool sounds. I have several iPad apps where you take a wave. . .sculpt it, edit parameters etc to make fun cool sounds but are there any similar ones for Mac's?

I'm not looking a very complex one like Max etc - just a straight forward one like those iPad ones

+1 for cfxr. I use it all the time for temp sounds in games.

That guy now works for Pixologic (he created Sculptris) but hopefully he keeps making neat little apps.
