App to modify alerts when using earphones?

I have headphones connected all day although they're not always in my ear. If I receive a call, the ringtone sounds through the external speaker AND headphones. (This is good). Alert tones sound ONLY through the headphones; so, if they are not in my ear, I may not hear it. (This is bad).

Is there an app or tweak to make the alert sounds always come through the external speaker?
