Does anyone know of an app other than iRig that allows you to record vocals with a background (imported) audio track? I have Garageband, but it doesn't allow you to import an instrumental to record a vocal over it.

I do hip-hop & r&b music and don't work with live audio very often. I've been searching for this awhile now. Thanks!

GarageBand will definatley do this. You are doing something wrong. Try and craete a new track then drag the audio file (instrumental) on top of the new track and it should load.

Do you have a link or video or tutorial to this? I've tried a LOT of different things. Where would I even drag the file from anyway?

I'm looking to bring an instrumental in from itunes and drop it on a track and then record vocals on it using a different track. I usually use Logic Pro for recording.

ThumbJam is another to try...I use both that and GarageBand, along with a few others in concert.

You can definitely record vocals and then loop in other instruments...etc.
