I thought I saw an App a few months ago that would index external drives and allow you to search them. Anyone have an idea what App that may be, or how I could set something up to do that?

App to search offline drives?

Spotlight indexes my iPod without any third party app, so I imagine it does the same on regular external drives too.

While that's true, I'm actually looking for a way to search them while they are not connected. So far I've found 2/3 solutions. Two are 3rd party apps: Media Indexer and Alias Disk. The other is a hint by Rob Griffiths over at MacCentral.
I've only tried Media Indexer so far, and it's ok, but it seems overpriced.
