I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch that gets very poor WiFi reception because of its aluminum casing. I also have a Dell netbook with much better reception, also running Snow Leopard.
I would like to be able to use the netbook as some sort of range extender. I'd like to connect to my network on the netbook and then broadcast that signal using an ad hoc network originating from the netbook. I hope that that does not sound too complicated.
Is this even possible? Would I need a dual band WiFi card to do this, or buy another USB adapter? The reason that I would like to go this route is that I would not need to spend any more money. My netbook only has B/G wifi, but the MBP obviously has N/A/B/G.
Thanks.
