App to single-click to open desktop items?

Hi,

I remember using an app in os 9 long ago where I could single-click on icons/folders/apps on the desktop to open them up. Is anything available like this on os 10.8.2?

You might want to try the Accessibility Settings, to see if there is something there that will help.

How will you select an item without launching it?
