i have backed up my mp3 folder. it comes to about 35 gb in one giant zip file. i want to back this up to dvds, having no other medium availiable to me. is there any app that will allow me to split up the zip file between a bunch of dvd's and then reassemble it when required?

Are you using iTunes? If you are then follow these steps. If not, then this is a perfect time to start:) File>Backup to Disc. Exactly what that feature is for. Just pop in the DVD when it tells ya to.

cool ! didnt know there was a backup to disk option! i come from a windows world you see, and am just getting into the mac world ( wanted a different perspective on computers ).no , i use itunes strictly for listening to music and updating the ipod. dont use it to play around with files though. and will the "backup to disk" option break up a file to fit on many disks?

Yup. As many as it will take you back up you're entire library. It will just keep on telling you to insert another disc untill finished.
