Hi, I was wondering if there is an application or a script out there (or maybe an option in sys pref. that I haven't noticed) that will stop my computer from using the screen saver while certain applications are open.

I'm in college now and it provides an internet tv service. It's great cause I have a 21.6'' samsung hooked up to my macbook which is right next to my bed. But when I use it, I have to use the included remote and change the volume (or get up and hit the mouse) in order to stop the computer from dimming, going to the screen saver, and eventually sleeping. I'd like to keep my sleep settings the way they are now for when I'm not using the app to watch tv. Anyone have any ideas?

you can try insomniax, though i'm not sure it will do exactly what you need. it stops your mac from going to sleep, but i don't know if it stops the dimming effect.

Thanks a lot! Caffeine will work just fine for my needs.
