App window stick on external display when disconnected

Hi,

I have an application running on dual display, some of its windows are on my macbook, and some other are on the external display.

The problem is when I disconnect the external display, this app keeps opening some of its windows on the "virtual" display ...

Anyone have idea? I tried the gather windows in system preferences, but doesn't seem to work.
