Not really necessary, since almost all apps have a built-in "new version" check.

Great app, saves alot of time by checking every app you have installed for updates.

Not if you're still using Tiger for it will also give you updates that will ONLY run on Leopard. Wish there was a way to filter those out.

AppFresh picked up the update to GarageBand this morning before Software Update did

Has anyone tried the brand new Bodega? It's a free Mac app. store, but also has an "update" feature that seems like it would be quite similar to Appfresh.
