I recently rescued a 27" A1407 thunderbolt display.

Getting it home and I first plugged it into the mains when I did, I noticed that the Magsafe cable coming out of the back had no

power light.

So, I tested the power lead for continuity and it was ok, so to me, there seemed to be power going into the Thunderbolt display but nothing coming back out.

I opened it up and used a blower to remove any excess dust, then did a teardown of the PSU, After that was done took out the logic board (both looked in great condition, especially the logic board which looked mint.)

The PSU on closer inspection seemed to have had some soldering repairs done but I may be wrong. (Please see the pictures attached.)

What I want to do before sending off for new parts, is to see if there is a way that I can test these parts myself using a multimeter? (not great with these so any pointers here are truly welcome.)

I would like to say thanks in advance guy's, much appreciated.

How'd you go with this? I got a 27" TB display about 6 months ago (was going to e-waste from a advertising company), & it worked without issue for a few months. It then started slowly cutting out after a few days, then few hours over time. The only way I can get it working again it to unplug the power cable to the outlet & slowly plug it back in - I hear a small electrical arc & then it works again for a few hours or a day or 2...
My dad who has electrical training seems to think it's a bad solder.
