I’m thinking of buying this Macbook pro, since the new ones lack of connections doesn’t work for me, but wanted to know if I should wait for a new upgrade or just go ahead and buy it.

Thanks.

if the reason you prefer the 2015 is the extra ports, then go ahead and buy it. the new 2018 will unlikely be adding more ports. apple will stick to its usb-c guns

Well its highly unlikely that apple will re-add any legacy ports, and if that's a major issue for you then there doesn't seem any reason to wait.

The 2015 design remains strong and usable, considering all the deficiencies with the 2016-17 design.

I don't see the legacy ports coming back -- Apple is just too arrogant about these things, regardless of what users want and ask for.

If you need the legacy ports, get the 2015 and "don't look back"...!

If you can wait, I guess the hope would be that they would become cheaper as newer models are announced. But as others have pointed out, it is unlikely that they will return to old ports. I geuss there is the off-chance that they end up providing an adapter or dock, but that is wishful thinking.

You won’t see the legacy ports coming back, usb-c only ports are pretty much positively here to stay on the MacBook Pros. If you still need to use legacy ports such as USB type-A, Ethernet, or thunderbolt 2 ports, then there are plenty of good quality usb-c hubs out there.
