I picked up a 17" Apple Display for really cheap today thinking that I could use it with my MacBook. I knew that I was going to need an adapter to do so, I thought that it was mini-DVI to DVI well I was wrong. I need a ACD adapter(?) which seems to be about $100, any chance of getting around this? Another other way to get this work? I was just going to used to have iTunes running on that screen or even like just have hand break encoding on that screen, I dont know if this matters at all. Thanks for all your help.

Is this perchance the transparent eMac-style (or later flat-screen) Apple Studio Display?

In that case, there is no way round using an Apple Display Connector (ADC) adapter because the display takes all its connections through one port; both power and video (possibly audio too, been years since I've used one). You'll have to get an adapter in order for it to work.

Good luck getting it to work, Wolf ∑:•p
