Apple has dropped the price on 4GB (2x2) RAM on their store. I'm not sure exactly when this happened (and I hope this isn't old news) but they have it listed as $200 as opposed to $300.

I'm going to purchase this now because I was one of the people who purchased through OWC only to have it freeze every time it woke from sleep. While the price is still high I'll take it for the reliability.

Wow! It was 300$?! I don't even remember that. 200$ is still pretty damn high. I would suggest that you either get Mushkin or Crucial on NewEgg. They are currently teh bestz0rs

Does anyone know about the compatibility of Corsair RAM and OCZ with the MBP 2.4 Unibody? In particular these modules:

These are the only two reasonably priced brands avail from my preferred retailer (here in NZ).

Would I be better off ordering some Crucial stuff? is it worth the hassle of shipping and potential taxes?

I've always relied on Crucial but there are several posts over on the Apple discussion board of people having the "freeze" issue with Crucial sticks.

Those issues seem to be resolved now. Recently the 2X2GB DDR3 kit was selling at NewEgg for 52 bucks! (Crucial). You guys may as well get that!

There are post about computers running with Apple RAM that are DOA—not much of a persuasion eh?

Hi every one. I'm going to sell my crucial 4GB RAM on ebay for $55.00 shipped. I can vouch for both sticks working 100% and have great ebay feed back. Should be listing it soon.

I bought them to upgrade my Unibody MBP 2.4ghz but Apple upgraded me to the 2.53 because of the bad graphics card. So the 2.53 comes with 4GB and now I have the other ones.

so giving every one a heads up. I'll send a link if any one is interested.
