No third-party sells obsolete MagSafe 2 alternatives. You can find used between $20-30 on eBay.

There are any number of 3rd-party clones of the Apple MagSafe 2 adapter for sale on Amazon. I have several & never had a problem. In fact it was a genuine Apple MagSafe 2 adapter that I had to chuck in the bin because it was overheating with black scorch marks after about 8-9 years of use.

I've seen 3rd party USB-C to MagSafe 2 cables and/or adapters.

Of course on Amazon they're usually marked with an alert along the lines of "Frequently returned due to charging issues" so caveat emptor.

A friend has a 3rd-party USB-C to MagSafe 2 cable that works well with an original Apple charger.

But the warning is real, there is so much trash on Amazon and not many other places to find one.

I'm seeing plenty of 2015 era adapters going for the equivalent of $10-$20 locally. At those prices just get one and put some heatshrink tape around the weak spots near the Magsafe end and where it connects to the psu body if you are rough with the cables enough to fray them. That should keep it going for the useful life of your Macbook Pro.

I use USB-C adapters to Magsafe 1/2 all of the time without any problems.
