I need a new Apple 85W MagSafe 2 for a Macbook Pro 2015, the cables are damaged, you know... those Apple cables sucks!

Model A1424

There's any modern solution from another brand like Anker or any with a solid cable?

I don't want buy another Apple Charger from 2012.

I've seen 3rd party USB-C to MagSafe 2 cables and/or adapters.

Of course on Amazon they're usually marked with an alert along the lines of "Frequently returned due to charging issues" so caveat emptor.

A friend has a 3rd-party USB-C to MagSafe 2 cable that works well with an original Apple charger.

But the warning is real, there is so much trash on Amazon and not many other places to find one.

I'm seeing plenty of 2015 era adapters going for the equivalent of $10-$20 locally. At those prices just get one and put some heatshrink tape around the weak spots near the Magsafe end and where it connects to the psu body if you are rough with the cables enough to fray them. That should keep it going for the useful life of your Macbook Pro.
