Kiwiland now - it's the best.
That great Jeff Goldblum power mac G5 ad has been banned from the UK. The ITC G5 advert report is pretty categorical and interesting reading. Apparently eight people ( yes eight) complained that the claim of being the fastest desktop computer in the world was contentious, it was investigated and the investigators felt there was insufficient independant verification of the claim and thus banned the ad.

What a pile of crock... I've heard all about the itanium servers etc.. but they're servers, not desktop machines. I've yet to see a windows machine beat a powermac dual G5 for any real world application / task.

I have written to the independant television comission, and if you agree I would ask you to do the same. Click here to write to them.

I do think the ad was factually correct but if anyone has proof or experience otherwise then please let the rest of us know...
