I had to take in my MacBook Air over issue they did factory restore and was advised to uninstall my Bitdefender and Malwarebytes what’s your view ?

They are as bad or worse than a virus. I wouldn't ever put that crap on my computer.
Yes, that is a good idea. Remove it. There is no need for it.
