For those who have the Air, did you buy Magsafe Battery from Apple? What’s yours experiences with this accessory?

Thanks in advance.

hi

i have bought one.

ive been experimenting with it. meaning: strategically using it at times only when i am intensively using my Air, and trying to co-relate its usage with a reduced cycle count.
im varying the maximum charge setting on the Air itself from 80% to 90%, or sometimes setting it at 100% while using the tickle charge function.
so, rather than "needing" to use for battery capacity reasons, im using it to see if i can understand its effect on maintaining overall battery health.

for the MagSafe Battery itself, i really like that its made especially for the Air. fits perfectly and snugly.
as for the charging power that it has, i think it might be able to charge twice - not full Air capacity, i mean twice given my usage pattern of the Air (ie, max. Air charge set at average 85% , and then ending the day with a remaining charge of 40%) with this usage pattern it can probably last me two days without recharging the battery pack itself.
for a very heavy user, i think this battery pack is capable of only about 1 full charge, maybe.

now that there are a lot more cold days here where i live - getting down under 0 ℃ - i haven't noticed the cold adversely affecting the battery, yet.

even though the battery has a slim profile, for Air users, this battery feels very heavy ! so i don't use it when i am out and about, or moving around my home. i tend only to use it when i am doing work at my desk. this is precisely why i can't buy a thicker device as a daily driver. i love the Air for the lightness and "handibility" it gives me.

im not one for buying 3rd party cords, cables, and especially batteries. if i ever need to replace this battery with a new one, i would buy this same one again.

just bought one and overall I really like it.

The grip feels great, with a smooth matte texture that’s comfortable to hold. My only concern is that the coating might wear off over time and reveal the glossy plastic underneath.

The battery feels a bit heavy, but since it’s thin, that doesn’t really bother me.

When charging, it doesn’t make the iPhone Air too hot like some other power banks. The temperature stays at a comfortable level, so you can hold and use your phone while it’s charging.

The indicator light is nicely subtle. It only appears when you attach the battery to the iPhone Air, and most of the time it stays off, so it’s practically invisible.

Bought today in AS, totally discharged. It takes 2 hours from 0 to 100%.

I have two Apple Battery Packs. I keep one in my work bag and the other I keep at home and primarily use to charge my phone when needed. I like doing this because if I need to use the phone, I can pick and go while it is charging, instead of disconnecting a cord. If the power at home goes out, I will be set with two Apple Battery Packs.

Is there no way to tell if the battery is done charging? There’s no light or anything to tell me to unplug it

I bought this only for days where I’ll be away from any sort of charger for an extended period of time. So far that’s happened once. I put it on at the beginning of the day and the phone used the MagSafe battery first before its internal one, which I think is pretty slick. When the battery was depleted I removed it and had 90% of the internal battery left. This behavior is the main reason I got this vs. a third party battery where I’d have to be recharging the phone in my pocket once it was low.

Anyone else notice the MagSafe Battery for iPhone Air losing charge even when you’re not using it? It was at 58% yesterday, but when I attached it to my iPhone Air today, it only showed 46%.
