Apple Airport Extreme bases station buying advice

Hi all,

Should I buy the Airport Extreme Base Station or the Express?

Which one is more stable? Do people like them compared to other brands?

Will there be an update soon?

What do you need it for?

I chose an Express since I live in an apartment and not a multi-floor house and wanted wireless printing. I don't really use the AirTunes feature.

The Extreme has a hub, and the Express does not. They both operate well, as I've used both. The advantage of the extreme is the speed of the hub and the USB port supports hard drives.

I've had a TC running for 6 months and have never had to reset because it wasn't working. It was definitely worth the money. I have a DLink at another location that needs to be reset every few hours. I have no idea how the express compares, but it can't do any better imho as far has stability is concerned.

I currently have 2 Belkins N1 router, one set as access point.

I probably will need to Apple router too in order to cover the whole apartment.

Should I go with 2 Extreme or 1 Extreme 1 express?

Also how often does Apple update their routers?
