Apple airport extreme

Hi there first time poster. I've just purchased an apple airport extreme and i'm confused with the whole setup, i'm complete noob when it come to networking.

I bought the extreme and have plugged in my belkin usb hub, i've now plugged my usb hd which has large collection of films, which i would like to share with my boxee box and my mbp and ipads. I then wish to install another hdd which i would like to use as a time machine backup, for both my imac and mbp.

my imac is connected to my Sky Router by ethernet everything else on my network is wireless including my xbox & ps3.

if there is any advice or references that would be great

Because at the minute I can see my hdd

Have you gone to /Applications/Utilities/Airport Utility.app and set everything up? It's real easy to get everything going.

I'm really struggling I'm not sure of the best setup option to choose for my requirements. Would it be better if I didn't connect my iMac via Ethernet

I've set it up and can see my hdd in airport setup but no one on the network can see it
