Apple Airport Set-up Advise Needed

I need some guidance to get my Airport equipment working. I bought a used iBook G3 w/ airport card (recentlyupgraded to OSx) from one person, and a used original Airport Base Station from another person. I have tried using the help instructions to reset the Base station and create a new set up, but I must be doing something wrong cause it's no-go. Any clues about how to clear old configurations on used equipment? Any tips for me to follow to proceed with set up?

Airport Setup

On the bottom of your basestation there's little hole where you can reset your basestation by inserting a needle or something else. After this you got 5 minutes to configure it via OS X's airportsoftware.
